Click here to learn more about Evonik from our employees RESPONSIBILITIES • Design and develop novel high-performance ready-to-use thermoset resin formulations for D printing • Operate laboratory equipment and instruments to perform laboratory tests according to described procedures for determining the chemical, physical, and thermal characteristics as part of quality control, process control and/or product development • Operate D printers (SLA/DLP) to perform printability tests for improving material printing performance • Design and carry out organic synthesis and chemical modification experiments • Communicate and report study results in an organized, logical, and scientific manner • Perform general laboratory maintenance (e.g. ordering lab consumables) • Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments • Create, develop, and update documents (e.g., standard/safe operating procedures, risk assessments, work instructions and laboratory records) in alignment with site EHSQ protocols • Must abide by the EHSQ policies at all times • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science & Engineering, or equivalent with to years of relevant work experience. • Strong knowledge and hand-on experience with various instrumentations such as tensile tester, DSC, DMA, TGA, GPC, UV-Vis, IR, titrator, or mechanical mixers • Strong experience in conducting scientific R&D in a wet chemistry laboratory (polymers and thermoset resins) are desirable • Experience with idea-to-profit process and strong project management skills are desirable • Familiarity with other chemistry related software (Scifinder, Chemdraw etc.) • Operation experience of D printers or proficiency with D CAD/CAM software is a plus • Strong knowledge/understanding of EHSQ with respect to lab work is a plus • Proficiency with MS office (specifically with Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is a must
